We’re pleased to share that two outstanding works by Spanish composers — “Cantes de Levante: ‘Minera’” by Óscar De Manuel and “Berlín 1928” by Eduardo Costa Roldán — have been recognized in the Newly Published Music Competition organized by the National Flute Association (NFA). Both pieces are published by Brotons & Mercadal Edicions Musicals, a Barcelona-based publisher known for championing contemporary Spanish music and supporting innovative voices in the flute repertoire.
These two distinctive works reflect the composers’ unique artistic voices. De Manuel’s Minera is rooted in the expressive tradition of flamenco, while Costa Roldán’s Berlín 1928 offers a vivid musical portrait inspired by interwar Europe.
The acknowledgment of these compositions highlights their originality and relevance within today’s flute repertoire.
We look forward to sharing more exciting updates soon — and extend our warm congratulations to both composers on this recognition.
