The XI International Piccolo Festival will take place from July 24 to 28, 2025, at the Bayerische Musikakademie Marktoberdorf in Bavaria, Germany. Organized by the Association “International Piccolo Festival” in cooperation with the German Pro-Piccolo Association, the event brings together performers, teachers, students, and exhibitors dedicated to the piccolo.
This year’s edition will feature several internationally recognized piccolo players as guest artists and instructors, including:
- Nicola Mazzanti, Artistic Director and former piccolo of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra
- Natalie Schwaabe, piccolo of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München
- Zart Dombourian-Eby, piccolo of the Seattle Symphony
- Katlijn Sergeant, piccolo soloist at the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels
- Pamela Stahel, former piccolo of the Philharmonia Zurich, Zurich Opera Orchestra
Additional guest piccoloists will offer lectures and workshops, and exhibitors from around the world will be present to showcase instruments and accessories.
Participation
The festival offers two types of participation:
- Active Performer (in-person only)
- Auditor (in-person; full or daily access)
Each active performer will receive three 45-minute individual lessons with three of the five guest artists. Two lessons will focus on solo repertoire (with piano accompaniment) and one on orchestral excerpts.
There is no entrance exam; active spots will be assigned based on the order of registration and payment.

The 2025 edition emphasizes in-person interaction and does not offer online participation for performers.
