The Tampere Flute Fest in Finland has officially announced the dates for its 6th Young Artist Competition, taking place April 23–26, 2026. With a global reputation for fostering excellence and innovation, the festival invites talented flutists from around the world to apply and share their artistry in an inspiring setting.
This year’s competition theme, “Fantasy: From Baroque to Modern,” promises a journey across musical eras—challenging participants to explore expressive boundaries while honoring tradition.
Who Can Apply?
The competition is open to flutists of all nationalities who were born on or after January 1, 1998. No residency requirement applies.
Key Dates:
- Registration opens: August 15, 2025
- Deadline to apply: October 15, 2025
- Competition dates: April 23–26, 2026
Applicants must register through Muvac, a leading classical music platform used by international competitions and orchestras.
Competition Format:
- First Round: Video submission
- Semifinal & Final Rounds: Live in Tampere, Finland during the 2026 Tampere Flute Fest
Finalists selected after the video round will be invited to perform in person and will also receive full access to all festival events, concerts, and masterclasses—making this an unforgettable educational and networking experience.
