The highly anticipated 5th edition of the Concorso Flautistico Internazionale “Angelo Faja” will take place on July 5–6, 2025, in the historic town of Calascibetta, Sicily. The competition is part of the Quinto Flauto Festival, now celebrating its fifth year, and promises a rich and vibrant program celebrating the artistry and legacy of flute performance.

Who was Angelo Faja?
Angelo Faja was a distinguished Italian flutist and conductor, celebrated for his deep dedication to music education and performance in Sicily. He studied and later taught at the prestigious “Vincenzo Bellini” Conservatory in Palermo, where he mentored generations of flutists who went on to make their mark in the world of music.Beyond his role as an educator, Faja was a passionate advocate for flute music, working tirelessly to promote young talent and enrich the musical landscape of his region. His legacy lives on through this international competition, which bears his name and continues to inspire excellence and creativity among flutists worldwide.
