The XII International Flute Competition “Severino Gazzelloni” 2025
The XII International Flute Competition “Severino Gazzelloni” returns in 2025, providing flutists and piccolo players from around the globe an opportunity to showcase their talent on an international stage. Organized by the AFI Falaut ETS Association in collaboration with the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Naples, this prestigious competition is supported by the Campania Region and the Italian Ministry of Culture.
About the competition
The competition begins with an online elimination round. Participants must submit their video entries by April 30, 2025. After the jury evaluates the performances, the finalists will move on to the in-person rounds.
The in-person final phase will take place at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples from September 22 to 27, 2025. The competition concludes with a winners’ concert on September 27, 2025, at the prestigious Sala Scarlatti in Naples.
Categories and Eligibility
The competition is divided into four categories:
Category A: Born in 2008 or later
Category B: Born between 2003 and 2007
Category C: Born between 1993 and 2002
Piccolo Category: Born in 1993 or earlier
Younger participants are allowed to compete in higher categories if they wish to take on more advanced competition.
