December 1–31, 2025
The Flute Almanac is pleased to announce that nominations for the Global Flute Excellence Awards are officially open for the entire month of December. This annual initiative invites flutists, educators, makers, scholars, and enthusiasts from around the world to recognize individuals and organizations whose work enriches our global flute community.
A Vision of Inclusivity, Openness, and Global Unity
The Global Flute Excellence Awards were created with a clear mission:
to honor exceptional contributions to the flute world across all cultures, generations, and artistic traditions.
Unlike traditional award models, the GFEA places emphasis on openness, fairness, diversity, and genuine community involvement. Anyone may submit a nomination, ensuring that recognition arises from real people across the world — not institutions or narrow circles of influence.

What Makes the Global Flute Excellence Awards Unique?
- Free and open participation
- Nominations from individuals worldwide
- Evaluation by a diverse international panel of flutist-judges
- Categories that honor artistry, pedagogy, innovation, craftsmanship, scholarship, community impact, and more
Why Recognition Matters
Recognition is not merely a formality—it is a meaningful way to acknowledge dedication, creativity, service, and excellence in all its forms. The Awards aim to shine a spotlight on individuals whose contributions elevate, inspire, and strengthen the global flute community.
