III International Competition of Young Performers on the Flute (Ukrainian Flute Society)

The Ukrainian flute community will once again gather in Kyiv for KYIV FLUTE DAYS 2026 — a four-day festival celebrating performance, education, and artistic exchange. At the center of the festival is the III International Competition of Young Performers on the Flute, created to identify and support gifted young musicians and to promote Ukrainian flute performance and repertoire.

Free access: All competition participants and their accompanying persons may attend festival events (concerts and masterclasses) free of charge.
Competition Formats
Live Performance (2 rounds)
- Round I: Video audition of one selected work from the competition program (participant’s choice).
- Round II: Full competition program performed live in Kyiv.
Distance Performance (1 round)
- Video audition of the full competition program.
Age Categories
- “Debut” — up to 11 years old (performance up to 5 minutes)
- A — 12–13 years old (performance up to 10 minutes)
- B — 14–15 years old (students of music/art schools; specialized music lyceums up to grade 8) (performance up to 10 minutes)
- C — 16+ (music/art schools; grades 9–11 specialized music lyceums; professional music college students) (performance up to 15 minutes)
- D — higher education students (performance up to 15 minutes)

Program Requirements
- Debut: Free program.
- A, B, C, D: Free program, but must include at least two works, one of which must be by a Ukrainian composer.
- Programs (entirely or individual works) may be performed with sheet music.
- Participants may perform a shorter program than the maximum time allowed.
- The jury reserves the right to shorten auditions.
Awards & Opportunities
- All participants will receive participant certificates.
- Winners will receive laureate diplomas indicating the age category and participation format.
- Diplomas will include the participant’s teacher and accompanist.
- Laureates will be invited to perform in future events of the Ukrainian Flute Society.
- Certificates and diplomas will be sent in electronic format.
Winners will be announced at the Closing Festival Concert and published on the official Ukrainian Flute Society page.

- Round I results (Live format): within 3 calendar days after receiving the application (notification by email)
- Live Round II auditions:
- April 18, 2026 — Debut, A, B
- April 19, 2026 — C, D
Registration & Required Materials
To participate, applicants must submit the Google registration form including a YouTube video link and required attachments:
- Photo/scan of confirmation from a music educational institution (for categories B, C, D)
- Photo/scan of registration fee payment receipt (for Distance Performance participants)
Registration confirmation will be sent by the organizing committee to the email address provided by the participant.
Important Regulations
- The competition is open to participants from Ukraine and other countries, except those that carry out or support military aggression against Ukraine.
- The competition does not provide an accompanist.
- By registering, participants confirm consent for the organizers to use photo and video materials free of charge.
- Withdrawal from participation does not entitle the participant to a refund of the registration fee.
- Jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
- In case of force majeure, the competition and other festival events may take place online.
