Bridget is the Section Principal Flute of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and an artist-teacher in flute at the New Zealand School of Music – Te Kōkī.
She graduated from Victoria and Otago Universities before traveling to the USA for postgraduate studies with the support of a Fulbright Graduate Award. During her time in New York, Bridget won the New York Flute Club and Artists International Competitions, leading to debut recitals at Carnegie and CAMI Halls.
Bridget mentors and teaches young musicians across New Zealand. She is a founding member of the contemporary music ensemble Stroma and enjoys playing a wide range of chamber music.
Actively involved in performing and commissioning works by New Zealand composers, Bridget has released CDs featuring both New Zealand and international music. Four of her albums were finalists for Best Classical Album in the Aotearoa Music Awards.
In 2020, Bridget received the CANZ (Composers Association of NZ) KBB Citation for Services to NZ Music.
