The contemporary flute ensemble BETA Quartet has announced the release of its new album Anthems of Dialogue, available beginning March 13, 2026 on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
Founded in 2016, the ensemble — consisting of Eftihia Arkoudis, Meg Brennen, Tatiana Cassetta, and Cassandra Eisenreich — has developed a distinctive artistic identity centered on collaboration with living composers and the exploration of new repertoire for flute quartet. With Anthems of Dialogue, the group presents a project that examines how music can serve as a platform for reflection, communication, and shared human experience.
According to the ensemble, the album is built around the concept of dialogue — not only as a conversation between performers and composers, but also as an artistic response to contemporary social realities. The works included in the project explore themes such as social justice, environmental awareness, human resilience, and cultural exchange, reflecting a wide range of perspectives.
Rather than presenting a single narrative, Anthems of Dialogue invites listeners to encounter multiple musical voices and ideas. The quartet describes the music as “pulsating with intention,” emphasizing the expressive and communicative potential of contemporary flute ensemble writing.
The album also forms part of the ensemble’s broader Anthems of Dialogue Masterplan, an initiative dedicated to commissioning new works that address modern issues while expanding the artistic possibilities of the flute quartet medium.
Among the featured compositions is “Power Surge,” an award-winning work that received Silver Winner recognition at the Global Music Awards, highlighting the international visibility of the project. A music video for Power Surge has also been released in conjunction with the album.
Over the past decade, BETA Quartet has worked to broaden the traditional flute quartet model through projects that combine classical performance with improvisation, multimedia collaboration, and socially engaged themes. Anthems of Dialogue marks an important step in that artistic journey and will be featured as part of the ensemble’s upcoming tenth-anniversary season.
Composer Valerie Coleman praised the ensemble’s work, noting that
“BETA Quartet is redefining the medium in a way for which the flute world has been thirsty for a long time.”
