The historic Italian village of Casertavecchia comes alive from September 24 to 27, 2024, with a vibrant celebration of music, theater, and culture as part of the September in the Village festival.

Tuesday, September 24
The festival kicks off with a special collaboration at 9:30 PM in the Casertavecchia Cathedral, where renowned musician Enzo Avitabile will perform alongside African artist Baba Sissoko, blending the sounds of Naples and Africa. Following this, at 11:00 PM, the Church of the Annunciation will host The Wonderful Stories, a theatrical performance created by Augusto Ferraiuolo with Rosario Lerro and the Teatro Civico 14 company, featuring Brillante Massaro from Matutae Teatro.
Wednesday, September 25
At 9:30 PM in the Casertavecchia Cathedral, renowned flutist and educator Salvatore Lombardi will present “Author’s Pages”, featuring unreleased music by Enzo Avitabile. The event will include a special guest performance by esteemed flutist Jean-Claude Gérard, accompanied by the Falaut Flute Ensemble, with Raffaele Maisano on piano and Piero Viti on guitar.
Thursday, September 26
Thursday evening brings together music and literature with Maurizio De Giovanni and Marco Zurzolo in their performance of “Passion” at 9:30 PM in the Casertavecchia Cathedral. They will be joined by Marianita Carfora, Umberto Lepore, and Carlo Fimiani for a night of storytelling and music that blends emotion and artistry.
Friday, September 27
The final day of the festival will feature two captivating performances. At 9:30 PM, Peppe Servillo and the Solis String Quartet will present “Carosonamente” at the Casertavecchia Cathedral, a tribute to the legendary Neapolitan singer-songwriter Renato Carosone. Later, at 11:00 PM in the Church of the Annunciation, actor and writer Pierluigi Tortora will perform “Zifonso,” a unique theatrical piece that promises to captivate audiences.
